Walter J. Cukrowski, M.D. is an American Board - Certified surgeon. He attended the University of Michigan for both his undergraduate and medical degrees. He is a very dedicated doctor and surgeon performing laser treatments, treating retinal problems, and performing cataract, glaucoma and refractive surgery. Walter J. Cukrowski is a member of: the American Board of Ophthalmology, Oakland County Medical Society and Michigan State Medical Society. Walter J. Cukrowski has traveled to third world countries to provide missionary cataract surgery.
Steven A. Shanbom, M.D. (owner)
Steven A. Shanbom M.D. is a board certified ophthalmologist specializing in cataract and refractive surgery. He attended Wayne State University School of Medicine, followed by residencies in internal medicine and ophthalmology at Sinai hospital in Detroit. Dr Shanbom has the rare combination of board certification in both internal medicine and ophthalmology. Dr Shanbom served as chief resident and received the prestigious H. Saul Sugar M.D. award given to the resident most dedicated to education. He has served as an assistant professor at Kresge Eye Institute and Michigan State University.
Daniel S. Zuckerbrod, M.D. (owner)
Daniel S. Zuckerbrod, M.D. is certified by the American Board of Ophthalmology. He completed his residency at the Henry Ford Hospital in Detroit. He specializes in comprehensive ophthalmology, glaucoma, cataract and implant surgery, and LASIK refractive surgery. Dr. Zuckerbrod is one of the first ophthalmologists in Southeast Michigan to perform stenting for the treatment of glaucoma. Dr. Zuckerbrod is a Fellow of the American Academy of Ophthalmology and a member of the American Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgeons.
Dr. Emmert-Buck is a board certified ophthalmologist and fellowship-trained cornea and refractive specialist. The scope of her practice includes providing patients with the best corrected visual acuity possible through cataract and laser refractive surgery. She believes direct patient care and increased patient autonomy leads to happier patients with better outcomes. Dr. Emmert-Buck completed a combined MD/PhD program from the University of Maryland School of Medicine in Baltimore, MD, and the National Institutes of Health in Bethesda, MD. After finishing her internship at Mercy Medical Center in Baltimore, she matriculated from ophthalmology residency at the University of Maryland. Subsequently, Dr. Emmert-Buck spent a year at Wills Eye Hospital in Philadelphia for fellowship training in Cornea, External Disease, and Refractive Surgery.
Always at the forefront of research and technology, Dr. Haddad is well respected in his field and recognized as a leader in vision correction. Dr. Haddad, a native New Yorker, received his medical degree from New York Medical College in 1983. Upon completion of his specialty training at Wayne State University’s Kresge Eye Institute and ophthalmology board certification, he decided to stay in the area and raise his family of four in Metro-Detroit, where he founded the Laser Eye Institute in 1987.
Anu Prasad, M.D. Is a Board Certified Ophthalmologist who completed her undergraduate degree at the University of Wisconsin and attended the Medical College of Wisconsin for her medical degree. She completed her ophthalmology residency at the University of Chicago and her fellowship in Cornea and Refractive Surgery at Henry Ford Hospitals.
Amanda Salter, M.D. is a board-certified comprehensive ophthalmologist. Her focus is in general ophthalmology for all ages, with a special interest in cataract surgery. She has additional expertise in management of glaucoma, diabetic retinopathy, macular degeneration, and dry eye syndrome. Dr. Salter also specializes in cosmetic botox treatments. She graduated from the University of Michigan and received her medical degree from New York University. She completed her ophthalmology residency in the Ivy League at Brown University, in Providence, Rhode Island, serving as chief resident.
Dr. Gabriel Sosne received his MD at the Albert Einstein College of Medicine, Bronx, NY, and completed a fellowship through the Howard Hughes Medical Institute, Chevy Chase, MD. He then completed his ophthalmology residency at Henry Ford Hospital, Detroit, MI and a fellowship at the National Institutes of Health. He is Board Certified by the American Board of Ophthalmology and is affiliated with the Association of Research and Vision in Ophthalmology, the American Academy of Ophthalmology, the American Medical Association, and the Michigan Society for Eye Physicians and Surgeons.
Jonathan R. Zelenak, D.O. is a board-certified Ophthalmologist. He was born and raised in Metro Detroit, attended Saginaw Valley State University for his undergraduate studies and Michigan State University for medical school. Dr. Zelenak is a comprehensive Ophthalmologist, providing care such as cataract surgery, laser and medication injections for diabetes and macular degeneration as well as glaucoma treatment and routine eye exams. He has a special interest in premium lens implants and advanced technology cataract surgery as well as laser treatment for floaters.
